Halal TV is a live television streaming app for Android TV, and a companion mobile app for Android and iOS that adds replays, news and prayer times. This policy explains what data is collected when you use either app.

Data we collect

The app does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information. The apps contain no third-party advertising network or SDK. The mobile app shows sponsor banners published by Halal TV itself; tapping one opens the sponsor's website in your browser.

We use the following third-party services, which may collect data automatically:

• Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) — collects anonymised usage data including app opens, session duration, watch time, playback quality (startup time, buffering events, playback errors), and device information such as device model, OS version and country. It may also use the Advertising ID to count unique devices for analytics purposes. This data is used solely to understand how the app is used and to improve it. It is not used for advertising targeting.
  Google Privacy Policy
• Firebase Remote Config (Google LLC) — used to deliver app configuration, such as the minimum required app version. No personal data is collected through this service.
• halal-tv.com (WordPress) — the mobile app loads news, events, reviews, replays and sponsor banners from Halal TV's own website over HTTPS. The website server receives your device's IP address to deliver that content, the same as visiting the site in a browser.
• YouTube (Google LLC) — replays in the mobile app are played through YouTube's embedded player, which is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and may show YouTube's own advertising.
• AlAdhan prayer-times API (aladhan.com) — the mobile app requests prayer times for the Thai province you choose. Only the province name is sent; the app does not access your device's location. Your chosen province and "prayed today" ticks are stored on your device only.

Advertising ID

Firebase Analytics uses the Android Advertising ID to count unique devices. This is used for analytics only — the apps do not share your Advertising ID with advertisers.

Video streaming

The live stream is delivered from our content delivery network. As with any internet request, the delivery server receives your device's IP address in order to send you the video. This is a normal part of how streaming works and is not used to identify you.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties beyond the Firebase services described above. Firebase is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained according to Firebase's default retention settings (up to 14 months). You can reset your Advertising ID at any time in your device settings under Privacy → Ads.

Children

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
